On a beautiful February day four racers made their way to victory lane for the first time. Alan Gast put on a clinic in the rear wheel drive nonstudded class. Gast got faster as the race went on and picked up the win by more than half a lap over the winner of the last two features, Wayne Peterson.
The front wheel drive studded race looked like it would be the first win for Ben Meyerhofer. Meyerhofer had the field covered until late race cautions came into play. Tony Everard got around both Meyerhofer and Brice Huntington late in the race to win his first feature. The front wheel drive nonstudded feature was highlighted by Mike Montie catching and then passing three time feature winner Brad Schnieder. In the Outlaw studded feature Tim Doehling was finally able to seal to proverbial deal. Doehling held off a late race charge by TJ Smith to win his first feature on ice. Racing will continue next Sunday at one o’clock in Cecil Bay. The annual invitational race will be held on Saturday the nineteenth with proceeds going to benefit four year old Charlie Knuth.
