The pendulum continues to swing around the drivers competing for the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship as each week we could see a new leader. But, this week that swings back to Corey Jankowski at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
Jankowski sits at the top of the standing among the ASA Member Track point leaders with an average of 2.2099. Rodney Cook of Ace Speedway in Elon, NC sits second in the standings with an average of 2.1838 with Logan Mainella of Orange Show Speedway in third with an average of 2.1816.
Not only is Jankowski in a tight battle for the National Title, he is currently in a tight battle at his home track as he currently has a three-point lead over Davey Pennel. Pennel won his first feature this past Saturday night. In fact, the top-nine in the track standings is only separated by 81 points.
Cook has a 60-point lead over Bobby Griffin in the track standings at Ace Speedway. He also has five feature wins so far this season and could be a factor as the season goes on.
Clint LaFont of Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, TX is still in the hunt with an average of 2.0723 and is fourth overall. Bryan Wordelman of Rocky Mountain Raceway in West Valley City, UT rounds out the top-five among the point leaders with an average of 2.0244.
Jankowski not only has the highest average among the track point leaders but he also has the highest average among all of the competitors competing for the 2010 National Title. Toni McCray of Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA has the second highest overall average with a 2.2034. She is currently in a tight points battle with Logan Mainella and Ron Daniel at the West coast track.
"This past weekend I had the opportunity to meet Corey Jankowski and enjoyed our visit," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "He has a great personality and enjoys being a part of this sport. He also has one of the students that is participating in our ASA - Student Educational Series as part of his pit crew as well. He loves the competition and says that he is racing at one of the toughest tracks in the country. We wish him and the rest of the competitors the best of luck for the remainder of the 2010 season."
