Beaver Dam Raceway closed the books on the 2010 racing season by having its annual awards banquet, Saturday November 6th at the Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira. The top ten drivers were recognized for their efforts, awards were also handed out for the most improved driver, rookie of the year, and sportsmanship awards.
In the Weld Specialty Supply Modified division, Craig Priewe brought home his second consecutive championship. Eddie Lemay Jr. came home second, with Don Scheffler taking the third spot. The most improved driver was Chris Piquette, with Noah Schepp bring home rookie of the year honors. The sportsmanship award was given to Eddie Lemay Jr.
The NAPA Auto Supply Street Stocks crowned Aaron Streblow as the champion; the runner up position was taken by Justin Brown, with Jon Schultz finishing third. The most improved driver also was Justin Brown, with rookie of the year being taken by Robbie Bord. The sportsmanship award was presented to Jeff Schepp.
The Piggly Wiggly of Beaver Dam Grand Nationals saw Roger Lee bring home another championship. Tommy Moore finished in the second spot with Craig Boettcher coming home in third. The most improved driver was Larry Zirbel, with Nick Strobbe picking up rookie of the year honors. Tommy Moore also came home with the sportsmanship award.
In the Choice Insurance Legends division, Brandon Schmitt brought home the championship hardware, Mike Mueller finished in the second spot with Joe Johnson taking third. The most improved award went to Dallas Ross, with Dan Troyan taking the rookie of the year trophy. Greg Hartlaub was the recipient of the sportsmanship award.
The Performance Motorsports Sportmods, saw Jeff Steenbergen capture the championship, Brian Besaw finished second, with Zeke Bishofberger taking the third spot. The most improved driver was Brandon Hummelmeier, with Bob Mann taking the sportsmanship award.
The last award of the evening was the Larry Henkel Memorial Award. The criteria for this award is; a combination of points, car appearance and attitude on and off the track. This year’s award winner was Brian Crapser.
