Final Night Wrap Up at Shawano Speedway

Though not a point night, the Shawano Speedway held one more race last Saturday night. Terry Anvelink, David Fieber, Lance Arneson, Dan Michonski, Clint Forstner, and Scott Blanke all prevailed in their respective divisions.

“The Tiger” Craig Bartz rocketed from his outside fronti row starting spot to grab the lead at the start of the Wissota Late Model feature. By lap 2 Bartz was being pressured by Anvelink. Anvelink used an iside move to power by Bartz on lap 6. Bartz stayed right on Anvelink’s rear bumper for the next few laps while a great battle began for 3rd and 4th between Troy Springborn, Nick Anvelink, and Gordie Seegert Jr. “The Navarino Nightmare” Terry Anvelink was able to hold off Bartz for the win. Nick Anvelink grabbed the 3rd spot from Springborn on the final lap. While Seegert rounded out the top 5.

“Dancin” Lance Arneson was dominant on the way to his first IMCA Modified feature win of the year at Shawano Speedway. Arneson led all 20 laps. Eddie Muenster was able to outduel Tim jorgenson for 2nd. John Peters and Jesse Peebles rounded out the top 5.

The IMCA stock Car feature was a real barn burner. For 20 laps Junior Karcz, Dan Michonski, and Nate Michonski waged a back and forth battle for the lead. The battle was finally settled as Dan Michonski snagged the lead on the final lap from Karcz who had to settle for 2nd. Nate Michonski crossed the line in 3rd Kerry Douglass and Vern Stedjee took 4th and 5th.

“The Milkman” Tom Natzke led the first 3 laps of the IMCA Sport Mod feature before giving way to Greg Magsam. Magsam quickly motored away and looked like he may cruise to victory lane, but a lap 14 caution erased his lead. The following lap Clint Forstner put the pass on Magsam for the lead. Forstner led the rest of the way for the win. Magsam held on to finish second. Travis VanStraten, Eric Zwirschitz, and Tom Natzke made up the remainder of the top five.

Dave Fieber started on the pole of the Fastrak Late Model feature and never looked back. Fieber led all 20 laps and showed why he won the track championship for 2nd year in a row. Aaron Holiday, Joel Bennett, Justin Hirt, and Wayne Block finished 2nd through 5th.

Scott Blanke won the Feisty Four Cylinder feature. While Brian Welch and Jeff Olson picked up wins in Spectator Eliminator action.
