The Oshkosh Speedzone is proud to announce that in 2012 IMCA has agreed to sanction the Sport Mods. After several years of waiting we finally are in the door of IMCA said partner Larry Stratton. Though IMCA would like to have sanctioned both Modified divisions, we thought we would run another year un-sanctioned in the “A” Mods. Jeff Lemiesz also stated that Oshkosh is kind of like a melting pot for drivers. We get drivers from the North, South, East and West just like the old track, Leo’s Speedway.
Larry Stratton continues to say that 2013 we could sanction the “A” Mods. For now 2012, we will still follow IMCA rules.
We would also like to congratulate the 2011 track Champions.
In the Lynn’s Service center Dirt Devils Jason Fairbanks took the lead and held to the end. The Total Power Sales Street Stocks was one of the closest battles, with just a few points separating first and second place Jeff Jungwirth took the Championship. In the Leon’s Frozen Custard Sport Mods, Zeke Bishofberger took an early lead and never looked back. The Miller Lite Grand Nationals another close battle but after the dust settled TJ Smith prevailed. In the Automotive Supply Modifieds Brian Drexler took another Championship at the Speedzone.
The crowning of the 2011 Champions will take place January 14, 2012 at La Sure’s Banquet Hall in Oshkosh. For ticket information please contact Larry Stratton at 920-252-1463. Please remember tickets will not be sold at the door and you must attend to receive any point’s money.
The final touches are being done on the 2012 race schedule and is expected to be released very soon.
The 2012 rules will also be on the website in the next 24 Hrs.
