MEYERHOFER AND BABINO STORM INTO VICTORY LANE

Fifty two racers turned out to play in the bay on a beautiful February afternoon. After leading the majority of the laps in last weeks Front Wheel Drive Studded feature only to be passed at the end, Ben Meyerhofer went wire to wire to show that he belonged in victory lane. Much like last week Meyerhofer had to deal with late race cautions only this time they could not keep him from victory.

Patrick Babino passed Amber Lardinois to claim his first win of the season in the Front Wheel Drive Nonstudded Feature. Point leader Klint Szymanski also passed Lardinois late in the race to finish in second and extend his point lead over Brad Schneider who suffered from mechanical woes. Outlaw Studded pilot George Schwalbach held off hard charging Tim Doehling to claim his fourth win of the year. In Rear Wheel Drive Nonstudded competition it was Wayne Peterson winning his third feature on the year. Peterson took the lead after a rare spin by his dad Ward. Dale Lardinois had his best showing of the year crossing the line in second. Next weekend there will be racing both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be the annual Invitational event with proceeds to go to the Charlie Knuth benefit fund. Racing will start at noon on Saturday. Racing Sunday will be at one o’clock.
