(Francis Creek, WI) January 10 - The fastest dirt race cars in the Midwest will embark upon Wisconsin’s newest third-mile, clay oval in 2010. 141 Speedway in Francis Creek will host the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw 410 sprint car series Sunday night, May 30.
The event will be the maiden voyage for the Midwest’s premier sprint car series, as the track was converted from a quarter-mile, paved oval last Fall, to a high-banked, third mile clay oval before the snow flew. “We’re pretty excited to be coming to 141 Speedway, without question,” said IRA Outlaw president Steve Sinclair. “With our stronghold of sprint car fans all through the Lakeshore, and most folks having off the following Monday, we think all the ingredients are in place for this event to be a big success.”
The IRA Outlaws are lightweight, open-wheeled winged racers that sport 700+ horsepower under the hoods. Joining the sprinters on the card will be the regionally popular grand national sportsman along with the locally popular IMCA hobby stocks, which will run in a sanctioned event for state, regional and national points. “With those two support classes joining them we think it will be a great show for the fans,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “The fans can watch the Indy 500 and World 600 on our big screen TV in the sports bar while catching the sprints that night as well. We plan on making that a big party all day long on Memorial Day weekend.”
A full program of qualifying, heat races, B and A mains will take place. Grand national sportsman and IMCA hobby stocks will follow a draw/redraw format that evening. For more information check out the track’s website at 141speedway.com.
