The American Speed Association® Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment and GrandStay Hospitality heads back to Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN this Sunday, August 21st for the Shakopee 125.
Last year’s race was one of the most exciting on the schedule. Nathan Haseleu passed and held off Steve Carlson with about four laps to go and went on for his first and only win in 2010. Thor Anderson finished third, which would be like a victory for the season he has endured so far in 2011.
In 1954, Raceway Park opened as a dirt track. It is a 1/4 mile flat oval located in Shakopee, MN known for its highly competitive Sunday night racing.
This Sunday qualifying begins at 4:00PM followed by the autograph session at 5:10PM, and racing at 6:00PM.
Not only will the ASAMT be racing this weekend, but the ASA Midwest SCAG Truck Tour will also be taking to the track at Marshfield Motor Speedway on Saturday night for the Marshfield 40 in Marshfield, WI.
Last year, Jerry and John Wood took the two top spots followed by Rick Corso. Austin Luedtke has only a 4 point lead over Jerry Wood with this being the last of two events for the 2011 championship.
The ASAMT SCAG Truck Tour is expecting one of its highest truck counts of the season including drivers such as the Wood Brothers, John and Jerry; youngster, Ty Majeski; Jason Schuler and many, many others.
Make sure to pack your bags and grab your families and head out to Marshfield Motor Speedway on Saturday night and over to Shakopkee on Sunday night for one great weekend of racing.
