ASALMS – Lexington, MI – July 10, 2009
In what was arguably one of the most successful weekends in 2008, the ASA Late Model Series return to Madison and Rockford for the 2nd annual Border War’s.
In 2008 at Madison, Robbie Pyle successfully defended his 2007 win by holding off veteran Steve Carlson in front of an enthusiastic crowd for the first leg of the Border War’s. The very next night at Rockford it was Trent Snyder’s turn to get revenge on the tight bullring at Rockford by taking the win after having trouble at Rockford in 2007 that almost cost him the Championship.
“This format of running two races in one weekend has been well received by both the teams and fans. Two different tracks and so far two different winners so far, we’ll have to wait and see if some one can pull off the sweep” stated Series Owner Ron Varney.
“Gregg McKarns (Rockford) and Dave Gruenberg (Madison) are great supporters of the ASA Late Model Series and both of them go out of their way to help promote the race and making sure it is successful” finished Varney.
Make sure you don’t miss one of the most exciting weekends of racing all year, it’s Border Wars time again; July 24 at Madison International Speedway (Mayor Madison 100) and July 25 at Rockford Speedway (All-Star 100).
