141 Speedway Announces IMCA Northern Sportmod Giveaway Partners

by Joe Verdegan
Tri County Heating in New Franken has signed on to become the primary sponsor for a 2012 Harris IMCA northern sportmod that will be given away later this year at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.

The car will be awarded to a sportmod driver at the end of the year who races in 75 percent or more of the track’s weekly shows in 2012. In addition, division drivers who earn 100 percent attendance racing their cars all year will receive a mulligan – an extra chip in the drawing bag when the machine is awarded to a driver at season’s end in August. The value of the car, without a motor and transmission, is $15,000.

Tri County Heating was founded in 1982 by Larry Lautenbach and his son Tim Lautenbach. In addition to providing top-notch HVAC equipment and services and customer support, the family has roots that run deep into local racing. TCH has sponsored more than two dozen drivers on dirt and asphalt in northeastern Wisconsin, spanning three decades. “Tony Bouche was the first driver I sponsored and that was quite some time ago,” said Larry Lautenbach, a self-described “bean counter” for the company.

Lautenbach’s racing itch took off in the early 1990’s, when he began attending races at Luxemburg, and other tracks, on a more frequent basis. His grandson, Brad Lautenbach, is an IMCA northern sportmod state champion while Brad’s brother Brian Lautenbach is an accomplished scorer at many area tracks, including the Badger Mod Tour.

Larry and his wife Cheryl seldom, if ever miss a race locally. “We hit about 8 shows out of town last year too,” said Larry Lautenbach. “The sponsorship deal with racing has drawn some new business over the years but more importantly we’ve gained some valuable friendships along the way. We love helping the teams and that’s why we’re doing this sportmod giveaway deal. Anyone who supports the track has a chance at it – not just the winner.”

“The nice deal with this car giveaway is that the sponsors that are on board while it’s on display will be on the car for the entire 2013 racing season,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “In essence, any businesses that jump on board with this promotion will be getting two years worth of advertising. We’re grateful that Tri County Heating and our other sponsors has stepped up in this deal, and we’ve still got more space available on the car.”

Other businesses backing this race car giveaway are 141 Speedway, Jerovetz Shock Services, S & B Trailer Sales, Victory Sign, Thunderrock Fabrication and Manitowoc Motor and Machine.

Tri County Heating is located at 4724 N New Franken Road, New Franken, Wisconsin 54229. Their website is tricountyhtg.com. Their phone number is (920) 866 3271.
