Come out to MIS this Friday night for Pepsi Night with all five weekly divisions back in action. Make it a goal to bring out some new fans for a night of exciting racing action and good family fun.
Rain, Rain...
Last Friday's Swiss Colony Night was rained out. The decision to make the call was made in the morning when already saturated grounds and the prediction for additional rain combined for a less than favorable forecast for racing.
The early call allows us to notify everyone well in advance. It is never an easy decision to make, but nonetheless, one that has to be made.
ASA Educational Series Awards Night
The awards night for students receiving scholarships to Ohio Technical College in Cleveland, Ohio, is set for Friday, August 6th at Madison International Speedway.
Graduating seniors will be recognized during intermission and scholarships will be awarded. In case of rain, this event will still take place in the Tech Building at MIS.
Larry Pond of the ASA Educational Series and Randy Dziadowicz will both be on hand to meet the series members.
Super Late Models Added to Fall Classic Schedule at MIS
Exciting Super Late Model racing action will return to Madison International Speedway on Saturday, September 25th as part of the MIS Fall Classic. They will join a racing program that already includes the Big 8 Late Models, MASCS, and several other divisions.
The event was rescheduled after wet grounds forced the cancellation of the originally scheduled date on July 23rd.
"We are very happy to be able to make this happen and it is definitely going to make a very exciting Fall Classic even better," said MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg.
The MIS Fall Classic is a two day event on September 24th-25th featuring Late Models, Area Sportsman, Hobby / Pure Stocks, Legends, Bandits and Vintage cars on Friday night and Super Late Models, Big 8 Late Models, Mid Ams, Outlaw Late Models, International Four Cylinders, Short Trackers, Bandits, Super Cups, and Vintage cars on Saturday.
Information regarding complete schedule and rules will be released in August.
