Shawano,WI,9/4/09—Jay Welsing showed once again why he is one of the best racers around when it comes to wheeling an endure car.. Eighty five cars lined up three abreast to start the second annual Shawano County Fair Enduro Race. Bonduel racer, Greg Banker, took the lead on the opening lap, but he would not hold it for long. Mark Pluer quickly put his machine in front of the stout filed of cars. Pluer was hotly pursued by Banker and Welsing. As the first red flag of the race flew on lap eighteen, the running order had Pluer out front followed by Welsing, Banker, Todd Welsing, and Frank Calabrese.

When racing resumed Pluer continued to hold a slight advantage over Banker and Jay Welsing as the three began to separate themselves from the rest of the field. By lap fifty of the race it was Welsing making his presence known at the front of the field with Banker now in the second spot and Pluer third.

Oregon, WI (Friday, September 4, 2009)- Jeremy Miller finished the year in style by winning one of the Twin 30s for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models enroute to his 2009 track championship at Madison International Speedway. For the second year in a row, Chester Ace (Roto Rooter Bandits) and Max McNamara (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends) took home titles.

Miller won the first late model feature while Ryan Goldade picked up the second event. McNamara made it a clean sweep by winning the rescheduled points event and the non-points race while Jody Schmidt took home the checkered flag in the Roto Rooter Bandits feature and 2009 track champion Jay Kalbus won in the Brown Heating and Air Conditioning Area Sportsman non-points race.

Miller and Goldade Share Feature Wins

Jeremy Miller wanted to make sure there was no doubt going into the second feature as to who was going to win the 2009 track championship. He made that very clear after taking home the win in the first 30 lap feature for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models.

Dan Lewis Photo - danlewisphoto.netDan Lewis Photo - danlewisphoto.net(Luxemburg, WI - 9/4/2009) - Scott “Scooter” Boyea withstood a late charge from Benji LaCrosse to win the Tri-County Heating Championship Night IMCA Modified feature Friday at the Luxemburg Speedway in Luxemburg.

Late race dramatics came into play in the Speedway’s three other IMCA classes as Troy Muench in the Stock Cars, Tracy Wassenberg in the Sport Mods and Tyler Wilson in the Hobby Stocks all claimed narrow victories. Jeff Behm capped off the night’s features with a convincing win in the Sport 4 class.

25 straight green flag laps proved to be the recipe for Boyea’s success in the Modifieds. He took the lead from Chris Derenne on the second circuit, building a solid cushion over the rest of the field through the first half of the event.

The first day of this two-day show was rained out, but nearly every car returned for the second day. With 33 cars taking a shot at qualifying, this was the biggest midget field of midgets for a single class at Angell Park this year.

In qualifying, only the fast times of Brad Kuhn and runner up Darren Hagen cracked the 14- second mark.

Heat wins went to Bryan Clauson and Hagen, who each started from the seventh position and Kellen Conover and Shane Hmeil who started near the front. Bobby East won the semi.

The feature seemed a little like a high school test tube science project, with two groups mixing and then quickly separating. By about lap-six, on a track that seemed dry, as evidenced by the dust flying, the Badger crew was testing the bottom, while the USAC regulars kept to the top.
