Jason Line - NHRA Media PhotoBRAINERD, Minn. – Jason Line has checked off many items from his racing bucket list over the years – including a sportsman world championship title in NHRA Stock Eliminator, a professional series title in NHRA Pro Stock competition and great success as an engine builder in the world of NASCAR racing. The one thing missing from the Wright, Minn. native’s high performance resume is a Pro Stock victory at his home track, Brainerd International Raceway.
The 19-time NHRA winner comes to his home state once again in pursuit of the elusive victory. However, this time, he has a big wave of momentum pushing his Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GXP. He has advanced to the last four final rounds, winning twice. He has claimed four victories in seven finals this season and is currently third overall in the highly competitive top 10 point standings in Pro Stock. He showcased his driving skills by winning with holeshot starts in the final two rounds at the last stop on the circuit -- Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, August 06, 2009) – The next eight weeks will be interesting to watch in the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship standings. The reason why is that many of the competitors will be reaching the 14 race plateau which will give each of them a more accurate point average. But for now, the top-three in the standings over the last month have held on to their positions.
Jeff Matthews enjoyed a well deserved break this past weekend. In fact, he will enjoy another weekend off as East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will be hosting the “Redneck Smash-A-Rama” this Saturday night. But, he still has the highest overall with an average of 2.8992. He also is enjoying a 145-point lead in the standings at East Bay.
Jeremy Miller of Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI continues in his second spot with a point average of 2.8441. This past Friday night, Miller finished third in the feature event that was won by Bobby Wilberg. Miller currently has a 97-point lead over Zach Riddle in the standings. Wilberg is only 100 points behind Miller.

LONG POND, Pa.— As it turned out, Denny Hamlin was right ... but not without a struggle, and not without a heavy heart.
Having said Friday that he expected to win the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway, Hamlin charged to the front from the sixth position with 13th laps left in Monday’s rain-postponed race and ended a 50-race drought in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series.
After beating Juan Pablo Montoya to the checkered flag by .869 seconds, Hamlin wept in victory lane, overcome with emotion in the aftermath of the recent deaths of his grandmother, Thelma Clark, and the mother of tire specialist Patrick Mullen at Joe Gibbs Racing.

SONOMA, Calif. – Antron Brown became the seventh driver in NHRA history to sweep the Western Swing by racing to victory Sunday at the FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon Raceway.
Tim Wilkerson, Jason Line and Andrew Hines also were winners in their categories at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event.
Brown, who won at Denver and Seattle the last two weeks, powered his Matco Tools dragster to the win over Cory McClenathan in the final round. Brown posted a 3.990 second run at 299.06 mph to finish in front of McClenathan, who clocked a 4.002 at 290.82 in his FRAM Tough Guard dragster. It was Brown’s fifth win of the season and he increased his series lead to 199 points over Tony Schumacher.
“This doesn’t feel real especially after we had so much turmoil in the off-season,” said Brown, who joined Joe Amato (1991), John Force (1994), McClenathan (1997), Larry Dixon (2003), Greg Anderson (2004) and Schumacher (2008) on the short list of those who have won the trio of races in consecutive weeks.

(Photo Credit: Chris Graythen/Getty Images)Jimmie Johnson might not have had the fastest car here Sunday for most of the race. Nonetheless, his car was fastest when it counted the most-- the last 25 laps of the Allstate 400 at The Brickyard.
Johnson ran behind race leader Juan Pablo Montoya and Mark Martin until Montoya received a pass-through speeding penalty during a late race pit stop.
That put Montoya back in the pack and another caution a few laps after a restart compounded things for the man who led 118 of the 160-lap distance. Starting from 12th, Montoya improved his position by one spot to finish 11th.
The race was left for Martin, who took the lead shortly after the final restart with 25 laps to go. Johnson, however, had other ideas and zipped past his Hendrick Motorsports teammate a lap later and held Martin off to the end. It made it back to back wins for Johnson and his No. 48 Lowe's team, a first for this race.
Mechanicsburg, PA—July 24, 2009—It's no secret that the Pennsylvania Posse were at the top of their game in May when the World of Outlaws made their first stop of the season at the famed Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and defended their turf, picking up nine of the Top-10 spots in the final rundown, including the win, with Greg Hodnett, who was the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year in 1993, coming out on top.
