Breunig jumped into the lead at the start of the event from his outside front row starting position only to relinquish the top spot on lap two to John Ovadahlof Johnson Creek. The first caution of the race occurred on lap four when Charlie Yelk of Lake Mills had trouble in turn two. Breunig challenged Ovadahl following the restart and moved back in front on lap six. Steve Dobbratz of Rio then moved into second and began to pressure Breunig for the lead. As the pair battled for the top spot they pulled away form the rest of the field and built up a sizable lead.

The second caution flag waved on lap twenty-four when Mark Miller of Columbus spun in turn one. When racing resumed Breunig and Dobbratz again raced in a tight battle up front. On lap thirty-eight Al Weishoff of Otsego and Bill Retallick of Marshall tangled while battling for the third position to bring out the final caution.

With the green flag out for the restart, Scott Patrick of Dousman, who had started in the sixth row, moved up on the outside to take over the second spot. Patrick moved in on Breunig on the closing

lap but it was Breunig out in front as the checkered flag waved. Breunig is the eighth different driver to win a feature in the division this season. Patrick finished a close second. Third went to Steve Dobbratz. Mike Langsdorf of Doylestown drove to fourth. Dean Schultz of Juneau came from the seventh row to finish in fifth. Sixth through tenth positions went to Bruce Havel of Deerfield, Nick Wendt of Watertown, Terry Sauer of Waterloo, Don Gaserude of Fort Atkinson and Bill Retallick.
