Rain shortens show at Columbus 151 Speedway!

July 16, 1999; Columbus, WI. - Heavy rains came just as the third late model heat race was about to start and forced the cancellation of the Friday night program at the Columbus 151 Speedway. The Pepsi Triple 60's Challenge Series Round Two has been rescheduled for Friday night August 6th.
In action before the rain, Scott Patrick of Dousman led the late model division in qualifying with a time of 13.648. Ron Preskar paced the street stock division at 14.362. The hobby stock division quick time was turned in by Jim Rohrbeck of Portage. Jacque Carlson of Madison was fast in the Formula Indy Racing Association at 14.232.
Jerry Chapman of Juneau and Jim Rohrbeck won hobby stock heat races. Dave Beck of Butler, Ed Jackson of Madison and Ron Schmitt of Columbus were victorious in the street stock heats. John Acker of Spring Green and Al Weishoff of Otsego captured the late model heats. The third late model heat did not start before the rain ended the evening.
This Friday night will be Auto Armor 50 Night. The late model division will race a 50 lap feature. The street stock feature will be 30 laps while the hobby stock division feature will go for 25 laps.
