Rain interrupts Columbus 151 Speedway
program! May 26, 2000; Columbus, WI. - Rain moved into the area and forced an early end to Shermans Garage and Body Shop Night at the Columbus 151 Speedway on Friday night. The late model and street stock feature events along with the back up event have been rescheduled for Friday night June 16. That program will now have double features in those divisions in addition to the stock rides that were also moved to the same date. This Friday night will be Miller Lite 50/ESPN 1070 Night. The Late model division will run a 50 lap feature. Junior Motorsports will also be in action. The B.J.s Roadside Rollover Contest will be the final event of the evening. Before the rains came on Friday night, Jerry Chapman of Juneau raced to his first win of the season in the twenty lap hobby stock feature. Andy Junget of Rio finished a close second as the pair moved through heavy traffic on the final laps. Dennis Gaserude of Oregon worked his way up to a third place finish. Justin Schultz of Rio had his best race of the season with a fourth place finish. Jim Rohrbeck of Portage was fifth. Al Weishoff of Otsego led the late model division in qualifying turning a lap in 13.772. Ron Preskar of Juneau paced the street stocks at 14.548. Dennis Gaserude was quick in the hobby stock division at 15.663. Late model heat race wins were registered by Ed Wolf III of Watertown and Dean Schultz of Juneau. Rick Coppernoll of Marshall and Noel Ramge of Helenville were victorious in the street stock heats. Hobby stock heat race wins went to Jason Hibner of Pardeeville and Jerry Chapman.
