Columbus 151 Speedway plans start to Y2K season!
February 20, 2000; Columbus, WI. - Plans for the 2000 racing season at Columbus 151 Speedway have begun. The first of these activities is to put the official final touches on the 1999 racing season as the track holds it's awards banquet.
The Columbus 151 Speedway awards banquet honoring the top drivers from the past racing season will be held on Saturday evening, March 11th at the Park Ponderosa Ballroom at 5100 Erling Avenue, in McFarland, WI.
The door to the festivities will open promptly at 5:00 p.m., with dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Live music will be presented by Swing Shift at 8:00 p.m.
Tickets for the banquet are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The deadline for advanced ticket purchases is March 7th. To order tickets send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Columbus 151 Speedway, 5220 Erling Avenue, McFarland, Wisconsin 53558.
The annual car show will be held on Sunday afternoon April 16th. The 2000 edition of the show will be presented by Moore's Towing & Service and Columbus 151 Speedway. There is FREE admission to the fans and the show will run from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Afterwards there is a testing and tuning session until dark.
After the show is completed at 4:00 p.m., the pits will be cleared and fans can watch an open practice session which will begin at 4:00 p.m. Grandstand admission will be FREE of charge and the concession stands will be opened when the cars take to the track for their practice sessions.
