As always the series events bring out some great action in the Late Models unfortunately a few cars were eliminated in a lap two tangle that would retire three cars. As they completed lap one and the field raced back into turn one Mark Miller of Arena was clipped sending him spinning up the track. Miller would collect the car of Jason Erickson and both made hard contact with the outside retaining wall.

The incident also collected Jeff Falbe of Beaver Dam and Will Godding of Cross Plains, Godding would return to the race after a trip to the pit area. On the restart Bowers would be challenged on the outside by Dean Schultz of Juneau, but on lap thirteen Schultz fell off the pace with apparent mechanical troubles.

Bowers would begin to mount a sizeable lead which he would hold until lap fifty-eight when Al Weishoff of Columbus spun in turn four. On the green, white checker finish Bowers would come across first, followed by Gerry Junget of Rio, Russ Goodwin of Beloit, Mike Langsdorf of Doylestown, and Randy Breunig of Columbus.

Ed Jackson of Madison posted his first Street Stock feature victory of the year. Jackson grabbed the lead at the start and wouldn't let go, leading the twenty-five lap caution free event from green to checker. The fight for the second position was a close one with the runner-up position going to Ron Coppernoll of Madison followed by Scott "Chico" Riedner of Waunakee. The battle lasted the final five laps of the event and was door to door to the line where Coppernoll edged out Riedner. The official top five were Jackson, Ron Coppernoll, Scott Reidner, Bobby Stough Jr. of Waunakee, and Ron Schmitt.

Jerry Chapman of Juneau was the first to the checkers in the Hobby Stock main event. The official win however would go to Eric Severson of Rio due to the post race actions of Chapman. On lap one of the event the front row of Gilbert Valdez of Havana and Lincoln Keeser of Milton made contact in turns three and four and took each other out of contention and handing the lead over to Chapman. Lapped traffic would find the leaders on lap ten, dodging high and low Chapman made his way through with Severson right behind and John Remsik of Madison trailing in third.

Chapman would maintain his lead, going into turn three of the last lap he would be boxed in by the lapped traffic of Valdez and James Schmidt of Jefferson. As they crossed the line it was Chapman, Severson, Remsik, John Hibner of Pardeeville and Justin Schulz of Columbus. After the checkers Chapman pushed Valdez through the turn one and two corners and into the outside wall.

Bruce Havel of Deerfield picked up victory number five of the season in the eight lap wild and crazy back-up race. As the green flag fell Matt Wachuta of Brooklyn grabbed the early lead. Steve Oetzel of Marshall grabbed the second position followed by Jim Remsik of Deforest. A rare caution fell on lap four as Tim Nonn of Madison spun and stalled in turns four and three. The leader Wachuta was unable to avoid the car and made contact cutting a tire. Shortly after Wayne Hook of Oregon couldn't slow down his vehicle in time and slammed into Nonn.

After the cars were cleared it was back to back-up racing action. On the restart Mark Remsik of Madison dove by his brother Jim Remsik on the inside. Bruce Havel began working on the leader Steve Oetzel. On lap seven contact was made between Havel and Oetzel and Havel took the lead. As they took the checkered flag it was Havel, Oetzel, Mark Remsik, Dave Moore of McFarland, Jim Remsik and George Wachuta of Brooklyn.

Late model heat race victories went to Duane Deppe, Scott Patrick of Dousman, Randy Bruenig and Al Weishoff, both of Columbus. In Street Stock action Dan Schmidt of Watertown and Scott Riedner of Waunakee registered heat race wins. Jim Hibner of Pardevillle, Dennis Gaserude of Arena and Ernie Witte of Johnson Creek were victorious in Hobby Stock heat race action.

Fast qualifying times were recorded by Butch Mierendorf of Waterloo in the Late Model division, Scott Riedner in the Street Stocks and Justin Schultz of Columbus in the Hobby Stock division.
