The Mini-Cup cars made their first appearance at Columbus 151 Speedway.  Brian Badyga (#4) won the feature event.

The race was slowed three times as the caution flag fell. As the field raced to complete lap one of thirty-five Tim Noble (#71) of Janesville spun in turn four. Gerry Junget (#71) of Rio proved it was not a good night to be running the number 71 as he also spun drawing the caution on lap eleven.

Al Weishoff (#46) of Columbus worked his way into the second position by lap twenty-five. Will Godding (#67) of Cross Plains and Dean Schultz (#34) of Juneau combined to bring out the third caution of the race on lap twenty-nine. After two attempted restarts the third try was the charm and the race was back to green. They crossed the finish line for an official order of Knight, Weishoff, Rick Coppernoll of Marshall, Jeff Falbe of Beaver Dam and Russ Goodwin of Beloit rounded out the top five.

Note: Last week it was reported that eventual Late Model Feature winner Greg Bowers (#12) was involved in early contact with Dean Schultz. The contact involved Schultz and Butch Mierendorf (#12) of Waterloo.

Scott “Chico” Riedner found victory lane again in the street stock division feature. Ken Scott of Rio apparently thought he had cleared Tom Collins of Lake Mills; Scott made a move to the low groove and was sent broadside through the corner on lap two. Although there was plenty of action, only one caution flew during the street stock main event as Calvin Kreger spun in turns one and two of lap sixteen. Riedner had taken over the top spot by lap eighteen and at the finish had built up a lead of nearly straightaway. The top five at the line were Riedner, R.C. Coppernoll of Bristol, Dan Schmidt of Watertown, Tom Collins, and Bret Schmidt of Watertown.

In Hobby stock action Dennis Gaserude of Arena found his way to the checkers first. In sharp contrast to last weeks Hobby Stock feature there was only one caution period coming on lap eleven of the twenty-lap event. Lincoln Keeser of Milton lead sixteen laps until Gaserude moved to the high side.

With Keeser's attention focused on Gaserude, Jerry Chapman of Juneau pressured the inside groove. As they came out of the fourth corner to take the checkered flag Chapman worked his nose up a half car-length on Keeser but was unable to earn the second position. Gaserude finished first followed by Keeser, Chapman, Jim Rohrbeck of Portage and Ernie Witte.

Steve Oetzel of Marshall jumped ahead of Wayne Hook of Oregon near the start of the Back-up Division feature. Oetzel lead a good portion of the race until Bruce Havel of Deerfield stole the lead on lap seven. Following in third was Mark Remsik of Madison in the borrowed vehicle of Rick Verdon. As they crossed the Line Havel beat out Oetzel and Mark Remsik, followed by Dave Moore of McFarland, and Jim Remsik of Deforest.

Brent Knight and Bruce Havel Of Deerfield registered late model heat race wins. Ken Scott and Tom Collins of Lake Mills were victorious in the street stock heats. Ernie Witte and Lincoln Keeser recorded wins in the hobby stock heats.

Dean Schultz of Juneau posted fast time in the Late Model division. Scott Riedner nearly made the sweep with a time of 14.576 to top the Street Stock Division though he dropped out of his heat race. In the Hobby Stocks Justin Schultz of Columbus posted a time 15.644.
