April 20, 2002; Columbus, WI. - Wintry weather forced the cancellation of the Moore's Towing & Service Race 2002 Car Show at the Columbus 151 Speedway on Sunday April 21. Attention will now turn to the Season Opener scheduled for Sunday April 28. Six divisions will be in action for the Sunday afternoon program. The regular weekly divisions of late models, street stocks, hobby stocks and back ups, will be joined by Junior Motorsports and the Formula Indy Racing Association. Time trials are scheduled to begin at noon with the first race set for 2:00 P.M. Action will then shift to Friday night May 3. In addition to the regular weekly divisions, the Formula Indy Racing Association and the 4 cylinder Bandits divisions will also see action. The Bandits will be running on an every other week schedule throughout the season. The Wisconsin Challenge Series super late models will invade the speedway on Sunday May 5 for an afternoon program before going back to the regular Friday night routine. The schedule for the 2002 season is packed with specials. The Pepsi Triple 60's Challenge Series for the late models will take place on May 24, June 21 and August 23. The Miller 50 Challenge Race Series for the late models is scheduled for May 10, July 19 and August 9. Other events on the schedule include Auto Armor Night on June 7, Dick Moore Memorial on June 14, Mountain Dew Code Red Cherry Bomb 50 on July 5, Burger King Night on July 12, Sylvia A. Sherman Memorial on August 2, and the Season Championship on September 6. Numerous other special events and kids activities are also planned. The Columbus 151 Speedway is located halfway between Sun Prairie and Columbus on Highway 151 at the 111 exit. Then take Highway V West to Kraus Road.
