The NEW Door County Speedway to open this Saturday Night!! By Dave Panske

April 29, 2001; Sturgeon Bay, WI. - The new Door County Speedway is set to swing their doors open for the first time this Saturday night, May 5.

The Track has received a face lift for this season with new clay added to the surface. The guard rail along the back chute has been replaced and new security fencing around the track has been installed. The track lights, scheduled for replacement in the new couple years, have received some work to re-position and get the track more evenly lit.

The IMCA Modifieds will again headline the weekly programs followed by the IMCA Stock Cars. Street Stocks and Bomber divisions.

The pit gates open at 3 PM on Saturdays with the grandstand gates opening at 5 PM. The weekly programs start at 6 PM.
