Jim Falls WI – The
highly anticipated , first ever visit of the winged outlaw sprint
cars of the Interstates Racing Association at the Eagle Valley
Speedway was cancelled by inclement weather Sunday. Heavy rains
throughout the evening on Saturday that persisted into Sunday
morning made both the race track and pit area unmanageable and with
the sprint teams needing to have an early decision based on the long
trip most had to make, it was decided to cancel the event by mid
morning on Sunday. No rain date is planned for this event but
officials will attempt to reschedule the event on the 2007 schedule.
Upcoming at the Eagle Valley Speedway will be a holiday program on
Sunday, July 2nd featuring all six classes that normally
compete at EVS. Benchmark Mortgage and River Country Co-Op will be
the event sponsors for the big holiday show.
In a scheduling note, the program originally planned for Monday,
July 3rd has been removed from the schedule so the only
racing next weekend will be on Sunday.
In an adjustment to last week’s Pure Stock feature finish, after a
technical violation caused the apparent third place finisher to lose
that spot, Luke Lindner was elevated to third place in the official
results.
Race time next Sunday at EVS will be 6 p.m. sharp for the speedway
which is located on Hwy. 178 north of Jim Falls. More information on
EVS is available at the speedway website:
