LeRoy Ostrowski of
Milwaukee, found victory lane on a warm sunny Labor Day
afternoon, as Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car held it's
annual Labor Day Fair program. LeRoy is the brother of current Winged Super Modified point leader Pete Ostrowski. On this day LeRoy used the low groove around the slick track to earn his first feature win since 1995. |
After an aborted start for an incident in turn two involving Eddie Staehler of Kewaskum and Grafton's Dennis Klumb, the inside front row starting Ostrowski battled side-by-side with fellow front row starter Dave Enders of Kiel during the opening two circuits of the race.
On lap three, Ostrowski finally surged ahead of Enders to take control of the top spot. The second red flag period of the event flew on lap six, for debris in turn one. After the restart, Ostrowski began to pull out to a quarter-straightaway edge over fifth starter Danny Cain of Kewaskum by the halfway point of the event.
