Ken Jay Fiedler of Sheboygan Falls recorded his first career 30 lap Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Winged Super Modified Feature victory in wire-to-wire fashion Saturday night at Sheboygan County Fair Park.

The second starting Fiedler, outbattled polesitter LeRoy Ostrowski of Milwaukee to take the lead in turn two of the opening lap. Fiedler then proceeded to buildup an impressive half-lap cushion over Ostrowski by the fifth circuit of the event.
The seventh year EWSC Winged Super Modified competitor continued to stretch his advantage as the leaders began to catch the tail end of the 20 car feature on lap twelve. Over the final 18 circuits, Fiedler skillfully sliced his way through a large group of lapped cars to post a convincing full straightaway victory over outside second row started Craig Schueffner of Sheboygan Falls.
Randy Butler of Juneau finished third after starting sixth, LeRoy Ostrowski was fourth and third starter Chuck Tuschl of Cato took fifth.

Former Track Champion Dick Hed of Plymouth outdueled defending track champ Steve Hoffmann of Plymouth to win his second 25 lap Limited Late Model feature race of the 1997 season.
Outside front row starter Dale Bauer of Sheboygan Falls jumped into the lead on the initial start before the red flag came out for a seven car mishap in turn three involving 1993 Limited Late Model champion Randy Markwardt of Sheboygan, John Scharenbroch of Sheboygan Falls, Chad Kistner of Kiel, Plymouth's Tim Veldman, Steve Zieglebauer of Sheboygan, Plymouth's Dan Dippel and Dave Jessen of Fredonia.
Heavy contact forced Markwardt, Zieglebauer and Scarenbroch to drop out of the race. After the second attempt to start the race, polesitter Mark Dingel of Sheboygan powered around Bauer to take over the top spot on lap two. The second red flag of the event was displayed on lap five for the machine's of Brian Schmidt and Jessen in turn four.

When the race resumed, Dingel maintained the lead while Hed charged up from the 11th starting spot to challenge for the top spot beginning on lap ten. He used the outside groove to bolt around Dingel exiting turn two on lap twelve.
Three laps later, the 13th starting Hoffmann moved in to pressure Hed. The two front runners waged a heated battle over the final ten laps with Hoffmann trying both the high and low lines in an attempt to oust Hed from the lead. However, Hed held off Hoffmann's repeated challenges to earn a two car length victory at the finish line.
Hoffmann was second, Dingel finished third, fast qualifier Randy Harshbarger of Campbellsport came from the 17th starting position to place fourth and outside fourth row starter Roy Dahmer of Sheboygan took fifth.

Sheboygan's Mike Anderson picked up his third career feature victory in the 20 lap Super Stock main event. Anderson started second and took the lead on lap two after dueling with polesitter Dale Damrow of Sheboygan during the first lap of the race. Back-to-back red flags for the disabled cars of Elkhart Lake's Jeff Muehlbauer and Chad Schlenvogt of Port Washington slowed the pace on laps five and six.
After the restart, Anderson began to feel the pressure from ninth starter Jim Bailey of Oostburg on lap fifteen. Anderson fended off Bailey's late race charge during the final five laps to claim his first victory of the season by a slim half-car length margin.
Bailey wound up second, Damrow finished third, J.J. Walvoord of Oostburg moved up from the 13th starting spot to place fourth and Sheboygan's Matt Jackson was fifth after starting tenth.
Two new qualifying record were set in the Winged Super Modified and Super Stock divisions. Two-time and defending track champion Pete Ostrowski of Milwaukee ripped off a lap of 12.658 seconds to establish a new Winged Super Modified track record. Ostrowski's lap topped the previous qualifying standard of 12.661 seconds set by Greg Otte of Sheboygan Falls on May 4, 1996.

Former co-track champion Tim Thompson of Campbellsport turned a lap of 16.726 seconds to set a brand new Super Stock track record. J.J. Walvoord of Oostburg held the previous Super Stock qualifying record with a lap of 17.042 seconds registered earlier this year on May 10th.
In other action, Jay Schneider of West Bend won the 15 lap Winged Super Modified B-Semi-feature. Sheboygan's Donny Konitzer won the 15 lap Limited Late Model semi-feature and Dave Theobald of Sheboygan Falls collected the victory in the 15 lap Super Stock semi-feature.
