Wind plus dust equals NO GO at Manitowoc!

Dry, dusty track conditions forced the cancellation of the season opener at the Manitowoc County Expo Raceway on Sunday.
Track officials, along with drivers, attempted to pack in the newly resurfaced, high-banked one-third mile, clay oval. However, high winds, combined with dry, dusty conditions prompted race promoter John Martin Kwitek to pull the plug, in the name of safety.

Super Modifieds will be on hand on a weekly basis. Several drivers were on hand to test out the new racing surface on Sunday afternoon. This is Tommy Sexton who makes a long haul from northern Illinois. |
Several Super Modified drivers towed all the way up from northern Illinois, and have indicated they will return weekly to compete at northeast Wisconsin's "One of a kind" facility.

Racing is slated to resume June 8th. Winged Supermods, IMCA Outlaw Modifieds with wings, Super Stocks, Street Stocks and Crusier cars will compete on Sunday nights, beginning at 6:00 P.M.
