| 02/08/2001 | VALLEY VIEW MALL CAR SHOW Officials of the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway announced today that the annual car preview show at the Valley View Mall will return this year. The dates are Friday and Saturday March 30-31, and Sunday April 1st. The season kicks off two weeks later, on April 14th, while Saturday April 7th will be a practice day. \\\"We are very excited to have the show back at the mall this year, and I think that this benefits the Drivers, the Racetrack and the stores at the Mall,\\\" commented Angie Martin of Valley View Mall. The date and location of the Annual Driver Orientation meeting will be announced in the near future. |

Opportunities: The Speedway is busy preparing for the 2001 season, which includes its marketing program. Signage- including Billboards, Wall signs, restroom signs, is available. Race Event Sponsorships and corporate hospitality parties are also available. | 01/26/2001 | 2000 CHAMPION\\\'S BANQUET The 2000 Champions Banquet was held on Friday night, Jan. 26th at the LaCrosse Center Ballroom. The festive event began with a social hour at 6:00, during which the 10th through 4th place drivers in the Thunderstox, Sportsman, and Late Model divisions were each recognized with a wall plaque. The dinner was served at 7:00 by Baus Catering, while the Guests viewed the 2000 La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway Thrills and Spills video. (Copies of the video are available for sale at Charter Communications, and you can order one by calling 608-783-5255.) The awards ceremony began at 8:00, during which approximately 80 awards were distributed. The awards ceremony concluded with the prestigious \"Sportsman of the Year\" trophy, which recognizes an individual or organization that has done the most to improve the image of racing at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in 2000. That award was received by Jacklyn Daniels, of CC106.3 FM. The Speedway is already working on a date and location for the 2001 Season Banquet. The Speedway staff would like to thank everyone who attended, and all who helped make this a special night for the award recipients. |
