2000 CHAMPIONS BANQUET- Enclosed with this newsletter is your
banquet invitation. The banquet will be held Friday, January 26th at the La Crosse
Center in the new expansion Ballroom. Consider bringing your main sponsor
(or at least inviting them) to the event.
CHAMPIONS BANQUET REMINDER- Please help us from embarrassing
someone. We do not allow blue or black jeans to the banquet. If you are buying
a ticket to this event for someone, please inform them on the semi-formal
dress code. Thank you.
COMPETITION COUNCIL - Congratulations to the 2001 Competition Council
Members - Brad Powell, Kevin Nuttleman, Bill Niles, Mike Belling, Tim Nelson, Jerry Wild,
Barry Wehrs, Dan Navrestad, and John Scott.
RULE BOOKS- Rule books will be out in January. There will likely be
only a few minor changes to the rules in the Late Model and Sportsman divisions.
Thunderstox will see the addition of 6 cylinders to the class. Note that it
is in addition to the V-8, not the replacement of the V-8's.
DIVISIONS- We will run the same divisions in 2001 as we did in 2000.
The Hornets will be once a month and will not replace the Thunderstox!
2001 CAR NUMBERS- If you had a NASCAR License, a La Crosse Membership,
and earned points in 2000, your current car number is held until March 1st. Call the
speedway for information on available numbers.
1099's- If you earned $600 or more at the speedway in 2000, your
1099 tax form is enclosed with this newsletter. If there are any errors, you must
let us know as soon as possible!
OPENING DAY- The 2001 season will begin on Saturday April 14th.

Oct. 4th -7th - Oktoberfest Race Weekend
CAR SHOW- There will be no car show at the mall in 2001.
INDUSTRY NIGHTS- Invite your coworkers to the races! The speedway
offers discount tickets to all area industries. All you need is 30 + employees.
Be sure to have your personnel director call us.
BALLOT- Enclosed is your voting ballot for the Champions Banquet.
Mail us your response or fax it to us at 786-1524. Please note that your
ballot must be returned by January 5th. There will be no recounts!
PAVING- We will be paving a new track exit / pit entrance at the
end of the backstretch. The earth has been moved, the rock in place, but the
asphalt has yet to be paved. It should provide the race teams a more prudent and
less congested access to their pits.
MINORS RELEASE- If you are (or have anyone on your team) between
the ages of 14 and 17 a new policy has been set by the insurance companies for the 2001
season. A notarized release must be on file...signed by both parents
or guardians prior to the first time the minor enters the pits....and a minors
release...signed by at least one parent or guardian, must be filled out and signed each
race night.
CHRISTMAS CARDS- Please take some time to thank your divisions sponsors.
They are proud to associate their business's name with you.....a simple
"thank you" via a Christmas card means a lot to them. Late Models: Midwest

MIDWEST MOTOR SPORTS RACERS AUCTION- The next Racers' Auction will
be held January 6 & 7 at the Rockford Metro Centre. The auction starts at 9:00
AM on Saturday and Sunday. They are a bargain hunter's dream come true!! Call

where the racing fraternity meets in the winter!
DOOR PRIZES- As in the past, if you need some door prizes for your place of works'
Christmas Party....call us, we would love to donate.
CONGRATULATIONS- LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway has won the
asphalt "Track of the Year" on Racingonline.com. Congratulations to
all and a big thank you to John McKarns for his efforts in the campaign.
IMAGINE- No radio show.......No Tribune coverage......No TV
coverage......If you liked the coverage you (auto racing) received in 2000, please just
take a few moments to thank the media responsible for coverage. Maybe a Christmas card

STEVE "LEFTY" KREIBICH- Steve was struck with
a heart attack right before Thanksgiving. After Quadruple bypass, Lefty is
recovering at home. If you would like to send him a card, his address is:

TIM McCARTHY- Tim's father died after a long battle with
cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tim, Jennifer, and the family.
AUTOGRAPHS- New in 2001, we will have a table set up on the
hill for three drivers (prior to races) for an autograph session. Our goal is to
introduce the fans to the drivers. The logistics will need to be worked out...but it
should be a great experience for all involved.
HELP WANTED- The speedway is taking applications for publicist,
scorer, and maintenance positions for the 2001 season. The safety positions have
been filled.
