Lake Geneva makes pre-season announcements and corrections!

January 7, 1999; Lake Geneva, WI. - It sure seems like along time since we've let you know what's going on at Lake Geneva Raceway. The next big venture will be our annual awards banquet. That night we honor our champions from 1998. It takes place at the small but fancy Monte Carlo Room in Elkhorn, WI.

If you've already forgotten our champion, they are Al Schill Sr. of Franklin in the Super Late Models, John Janssen of Pell Lake in the Super Stocks, Joel Clossey of Beloit in the Mid-American sportsman and Rolf Tillman the only out of state driver to win a title . This happened in the sport trucks.

Tickets for the big party are on sale now and sales will continue through January 17th. There will again be no tickets sold at the door. The cost is $20 each. Just send a self addressed stamped envelope to the raceway , at 1015 East North Bloomfield Road, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. 53147, along with your check. Cocktails will be at 6 pm. dinner at 7 and awards at 8:30.

After the awards banquet the LGR activities will include our participation in the BARS "Let's Go Racing" auto show which will take place in March.  The out 1999 season opener which will be on April 10th, 1999.   Originally the date was to be April 3rd for the season opener, but with Easter the next day, track officials felt that April 10th would be the best date for the 1999 opening show.

On opening night the Super Late Models and Super Stocks will be on hand and will race along with another division to be announced. Weekly Saturday night racing will continue through October 9th.
