Lake Geneva Raceway gearing up for big weekend!!

Special; Lake Geneva, WI. While most area race tracks are winding down for the 1999 season, Lake Geneva Raceway is getting their second wind. This coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 1st,2nd and 3rd, Wisconsin's largest paved track race program will take place in Southeastern Wisconsin.

The 9th. annual October Classic, sponsored by O'Doul's will take place on the one third mile paved banked oval. On Friday night, the small car World Championships will host a field of some 200 drivers from five states. Time trials begin at 6 p.m. racing at 7:30   p.m. sharp. Divisions participating include, Rascal Outlaws, mini modifieds, Dwarf cars, Wisconsin mini sport trucks (which also appear Saturday) 4 cylinder cars and trucks, Wisconsin Allison Legacy series, Legends, mini cups, Formula Indy, Northern Michigan Racing, GEM Pro Carts and Bandolero cars.

On Saturday, time trials begin at 1 pm. racing at 6 pm. Divisions here, will be the super late models, there has been 8 different winners of the 50 lap feature, that has a $1500 tag on the win. The limited late models from Columbus, Tomahawk, Tomah, Jefferson,Rockford and Madison area sportsman will compete in a 40 lap feature, with a $500 to win. The Midwest Modifieds will have a $400 feature of 25 laps. The super stocks that run at Jefferson, Dells, Rockford and Columbus will have a 30 lap feature, with $300 to win. The street stocks like the LGR super stocks, Jefferson and Columbus hobby stocks, Rockford roadrunners, will have a 30 lap feature, worth $250 to win. The Mid American Stock cars and trucks will run point series events. The Crusiers will run a $100 to win 15 lap feature.

Saturday night heats will run, with only the Wisconsin mini sport trucks running their feature that night. On Sunday semi's and features will run starting at 1 p.m. Then topping off the program a $1000 to win World Championship roll over contest. Based on 15 cars entered, second place will pay $500. If more enter the purse will increase.
