Lake Geneva Raceway ready to start 1999 activities!

March 1, 1999; Lake Geneva, WI. - With stock car racing around the corner, the 22nd Annual BARS "Let's Go Racing" Auto show will again kick off the 1999 racing season in Southeastern Wisconsin. The show will run from March 12-14 and will see drivers from Lake Geneva Raceway and other area race facilities participate in the only show that is FREE to both participants and viewers.   The show will be held at the Original Factory Outlet Center, just west of Kenosha, Wisconsin at I-94 and Highway 50.  Mike Babicz the promoter said the show is filling up.  Interested drivers should call (847) 855-0019 to enter.

Then on Wednesday March 17th, the first of some 28 practice sessions will begin at the raceway.  These sessions will take place from 1 P.M. until dusk for any type of oval track race car, on April 3rd an inspection session will also be held.  Racing will begin the following Saturday night on April 10th.

Some specials planned for the raceway this year will include three Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series races.  They will be held on May 31st, July 4th and September 6th, which is Labor Day afternoon.

The NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge series will be Saturday July 3rd, with a field of drivers from around the Midwest.  The Small Car World Championships will be on Friday night October 1st, while the following days October 2nd and 3rd will feature the states largest two day race program with the running of the October Classic, where some 14 divisions will be competing.

Weekly Pro Motocross racing will begin on May 7th, on a specially prepared stadium dirt course.  The 30th Annual off road races will be held on Memorial Day weekend with the dates being May 29th and May 30th.
