On Saturday night April 10th, 4 divisions of race cars will invade the one third mile paved oval at Lake Geneva Raceway. Time trials begin at 6 p.m and racing will follow at 7:30 p.m..
The first night, the field will consist of Super Late Models, headed by two-time and defending champion Al Schill Sr. of Franklin, WI. In the McHenry Limo super stocks, Genoa City resident John Janssen will be back to defend his championship. In the Wisconsin Allison Legacy Series, Bobby Giers of Ingleside, Illinois looks to be the driver to beat. In the sport trucks, the field is wide open as champion Rolf Tillman of Woodstock, IL is rumored to be in a super late model and will not be in a truck at all this season.
On regular Saturday nights throughout the season, super late models and super stocks will be featured each week, along with another support division and a special added attraction.
April 3rd, the annual inspection and practice session will be the only chance drivers will receive to get "that look over" before the weekly shows begin. All cars must be inspected before racing on their first night of competition.. The super late models, super stocks, sport trucks and Performance Unlimited sportsman will participate in the point fund championship, with drivers competing in 75% of all completed shows, receiving a point fund check if they are present at the awards banquet at the end of the season. Last year over $21,000 in cash and prizes were given out, to a record number of drivers.
A few open dates for nightly sponsorship are still available. Call the raceway if interested. Front gate spectators can still purchase season passes from the raceway office. Call (414) 248-8566 for all the information.
