April 10, 1999; Lake Geneva, WI. - As a request of Al Schill Sr., the defending Super Late Model champion, his wife Gwenn, their family their friends and raceway offical Dave Kamholtz, the Al Schill Jr. Memorial dash will begin this week for the top seven super late model qualifiers.

This 7 lap event will run every regular Saturday night . On Saturday night May 8th, the dash will run just six cars, the seventh position will be left open, in memory of the 1995 Champion , who passed away unexpectly on Monday March 29th, at the age of only 24.

The reason May 8th. was picked, is that was the closest day to the first career feature victory of the late Schill Jr., who won his first super late model feature here, on the day before Mothers Day in 1994. The weekly dash , named in Al Schill Jr.'s honor will keep point totals and at the end of the season the driver with the most wins in the event, will receive a $700 bonus for their efforts.

Schill Jr., raced the number 7, during his short, sucessful career. Plans are to name a yearly race night in Schill's memory. This could take place during the July 4th. holiday weekend. Racing then, will be both Friday and Saturday night.

Other news from the raceway, includes the renaming of the annual October Classic. O'Doul's America's number one non alcohol brew will be back to sponsor the states largest paved track event.

David Hock, vice president of sales for the Beechwood Distributors out of New Berlin, reached an agreement with Dawson on April 7th, to come back on board as the race sponsor.

Anheuser - Busch , the world's largest brewing company has joined the raceday in the designated driver program , with free O"Doul's for any responsible drive, during any race program.

With over 60 yearly events and weekly practice sessions every Wednesday from 1 pm. until dusk, potential sponsors should look at the raceway with earnest desire. Nearly 105,000 people come to the raceway each year.
