Lake Geneva Raceway back to two nights a week!!

January 10, 2000; Lake Geneva, WI. For the first time since 1981 weekly stock car racing will take place at Lake Geneva Raceway, two nights a week, with Friday night racing returning May 26th. The fourteen week schedule will run through Labor Day weekend. "It's like the way racing started here", stated Kevin Dawson owner of the racing complex.

The headline division for some of the show will be a new late model class, part of the Millenium race series.

Jack Kossow of Union Grove, promoter and owner of the Wisconsin Allison Legacy series in the state, came up with the division. "We are trying to gave the little guy a place to race again", said Kossow. "With so many race cars just sitting , because of being outdated or no big sponsors, this will gave them a chance to race again, Kossow added. Jasper Engine and Transmission Company will sponsor the series. For more information on the group, call Jack at (262) 878-0556.

Another headline division, will be the Midwest Modifieds that run at Slinger Super Speedway on Sunday nights. These drivers have been pushing to get in here on a weekly basis and with the IMCA modifieds in the area, this will be another strong division. Each division should produce at least 25 race cars.

Three other divisions will compete. The Mini Modifieds, Rascal Outlaws, Wisconsin/Illinois dwarf cars, mini cups, Allison Legacy, LGR sport trucks, Formula Indy, Wisconsin mini-sport trucks, Legend cars and other small car divisions, will alternate through the season. If there are any groups out there, that want to run, call (262) 248-8566 before the schedule has been completed. This should gave a full program, with regular starting times.

A weekly featured city, group and special two night admissions will help the race fan that wants to be here both nights. The season pass for both nights will be forth coming and the price will be announced soon.

Drivers are reminded that space for the 23rd. annual BARS "Let's Go Racing" Show is nearly complete. The show will be March 24th, 25th, and 26th at the Original Outlet Mall, just West of Kenosha, at I-94 and Highway 50. Weekly Pro Moto Cross racing will also remain on Friday nights on a stadium dirt course, East of the paved oval. A field of 300 riders from through the Midwest compete starting May 5th.
