Luxemberg Mod feature win number one! Scott Mullen (#1) won his first IMCA Modified feature win at Luxemburg Tri-Star passing Dave Zeitler in the closing laps to score the victory. |
Dave Fisher took charge of the IMCA Modified main at the start holding off Chris Derenne, Buck Schmelzer and Dave Zeitler thru lap 9. One lap after a caution, Zeitler hooked up on the outside and pulled off the pass to take charge and started to pull away from the field, Scott Mullen moved into the runner up spot on lap 13, and had the gap closed on the leader by a final caution on lap 15.
Zeitler stayed to the high side and Mullen stayed low after the restart, and Mullen found the door open on lap 17 and slipped into the lead. Mullen stayed out front the rest of the way to win his first career modified feature here at Tri Star. His Brother, Brian, caught Zeitler on the final lap and took second place away and in doing so, took over the point lead for the first time this season. Derenne took fourth with Dan Ratajczak and Roy Ihlenfeld round out the top six.
| Another first time winner! Josh Massart (#2) scored his first career Street Stock feature this evening at Luxemburg Tri-Star taking the lead and the win with less than five laps to go in the feature race. | ![]() |
John Baenen set the pace for the Street Stock feature followed by Dave Baenen, Frank Paul, Bobby Rezek and Josh Massart. By lap 10, Massart was on the move taking over third with Jared Siefert, Jamie Colwell, Fred Davister and point leader Randy Rahn right behind Massart. Massart took over the runner up spot on lap 13 and set his sights on John Baenen at the front. On lap 15, Massart was in control and was able to hold a slight lead while the battle for second was ragging. Davister, Jason Czarapata, Siefert and Rahn ran to the end and finished in that order. Brandon Czarapata rounded out the top six. The win was the first career feature win for Massart, who is a third generation driver out of Brussels.
John Mahlberg led the opening four circuits of the IMCA Stock Car main before Eric VanIten swept by on the outside on lap 5. VanIten started to pull away as the rest of the field sorted out. By the time Tim Van De Hei moved into the runner-up spot on lap 9. VanIten had a sizable lead but was starting to lap some traffic, while Van De Hei started to close on the leader. Brian Bruechert, Rod Snellenberger, Dan Gracyalny, Craig Paque and Pat Davister were locked in a battle for third place.

Tim VanDeHei (#4) made his first trip to the winners circle after the IMCA Stock Car feature this season during this evenings action at Luxemburg Tri-Star. |
It took until the final 5 laps for Van De Hei to catch VanIten, and then a couple more to slip to the inside and take over the lead on lap 19. Van De Hei claimed his first feature win of the season here this season with three time winner, VanIten right behind. Bruechert held off Davister to take third place with Gracyalny and Joe White rounding out the top 6 finishers.
Bob Brown led the way for much of the Sport Truck feature with Kevin Strebel and Jerry Screy following right behind. Brandon Blashe and Ben Kroll joined the leaders at the mid point of the race and a four truck battle carried to the finish. Strebel was able to work to the inside of the leader with 2 laps left and brought Blashe and Kroll along. Strebel held off the challengers to win his second feature of the season and took over the point lead. Blashe edged out Kroll for the second place finish with Brown taking fourth. Ed Danoff took fifth and Dan Davister rounded out the top six.
There wilt be NO racing at Tn Star next Friday night because of the Kewaunee County Fair. A special fair race will have been run on Wednesday night, July 28th. Weekly racing will resume on Friday night, August 6th.
