Rick Mahlberg (#6) scored his first trip the winners cricle this season at Luxemburg Tri-Star Speedway when he cam home the winner of the second IMCA Stock Car heat race. |
After a lap 8 restart, Mullen hooked on the outside and flew into the lead. Following a final pair of cautions on lap 12, the race went green the rest of the way. Mullen led the way to the checkered for his second win of the season. Christensen collected his best finish of the year in second. Point leader, Brian Mullen nipped Boerschinger at the line for third place with Ratajczak recovering from a mid race spin to take fifth and stay in the point chase, with last weeks winner, George Henkel rounding out the top six.
The Street Stocks ran until lap 8 before a couple cautions slowed their main event. Tom Daubner, making his second race of the season, led the way early with Shannon Smith taking over the top spot on lap 7. After the final caution on lap 10, Smith was still leading, but slipped wide out of turn four opening the door for Daubner to again take the top spot. Point leader, Jared Siefert worked into second on lap 13 and one lap later took over the lead.
Once in front, Siefert led the way to win his third feature of the season and inch a bit more ahead of defending champion, Jason Czarapata in the standings with 2 weeks remaining Daubner and Smith battled for the runner up spot with Smith taking the position for his best finish of the season. Daubner settled for third place with James Tebon holding off Jason Czarapata for fourth place. Brandon Czarapata rounded out the top six places.
Kevin Nuthals set the pace early in the IMCA Stock Car main and pulled away to lead until spinning the car in turn one on lap 10, brining out the first caution of the race. Dave Budzban inherited the lead with Charlie Kroll, Jeremy DeGrave, Rod Snellenberger and John Heinz behind. Snellenberger took the high side and moved into the runner up spot on the restart and on the next lap, contact was made between Heinz and Kroll, forcing Kroll to the pit and Heinz to the rear of the field for the contact.
The final 10 laps went green with Budzban leading for 2 more circuits before Snellenberger moved into the top spot and pulled away the rest of the race for his third feature win in a row. Eric VanIten hounded Snellenberger for the final 5 laps but settled for the second place finish. Budzban took third with Craig Paque fourth. Doug Kropp and Jay Matthias rounded out the top six.
The win puts Snellenberger into second place in the points as point leader, Joe White had problems in the main and finished 16th and runner up, Brian Bruechert had mechanical problems that prevented his from making the main.
Ed Danoff set the pace and pulled away from the Sport Truck field and looked like a sure winner until the truck suddenly slowed out of turn four and stalled on tap 7. This put Ben Kroll into the lead and he drove on for his 8th feature win of the season. Point leader, Kevin Strebel took the second place finish with Dan Davister taking third, Brandon Blashe fourth, Bob Brown fifth and Danoff getting credit for sixth.
