Pat Davister (#44) won his first IMCA Stock Car feature of the season Friday Night.   It was his first feature win at Luxemburg since August 22, 1997.

Chad Wilcox grabbed the lead at the start of the Stock Car main and paced the first 6 laps before Pat Davister swept into the top spot. Wilcox and Ben Kroll brought out the first caution on lap 8 when they both spun while battling for second place, Josh Massart assumed the runner up spot on the restart but caused the second caution on lap 11 with a spin. The restart set the stage for an exciting finish. Davister maintained the lead followed by Jay Matthias, Jeremy Christians, Tim Van De Hei, Brandon Czarapata and Eric VanIten.

The top five cars stayed grouped with Van De Hei taking to the outside and finally moving into second on lap 19. He moved up to challenge for the lead and ran alongside entering the final lap. Davister was able to fend off the challenge by a couple feet to claim his first hometown feature win since August 22, 1997. Van De Hei took the close runner-up finish with Matthias taking third. Coming from the back of the field, John Heinz passed Christians on the final lap, to sneak out the fourth place finish. VanIten rounded out the top six.

Former IMCA Stock Car standout Robert Waechter (#7) moved into the IMCA Modified divisions this season.  On this evening he scored his first checkered flag in the class winning his heat race. 51900a.jpg (11764 bytes)

Todd Dart took the lead in the Modified headliner and survived a series of six cautions over the first 11 laps and pressure from Brian Mullen, Jerry Muenster and Jared Siefert to hold the lead. Following the final restart on lap 11. The green race would run to the finish. Dart was running a mid track groove and Mullen was trying to get the inside line to work. On lap 13, Dart slipped a bit in turn one, which was all the break Mullen needed to sneak into the top spot. Dave Zeitler moved into fourth with RM. Van Pay moving into fifth with 8 laps remaining.

Mullen was able to hold a slight edge but the battle for the runner-up spot was tight with the next five cars running together and three wide several times. Muenster was in the middle of the battle when the engine blew entering turn one with three laps left. The rest of the field was able to get by unharmed and followed Mullen to the finish line, for his first win of the season here. Dart took the runner-up finish with Van Pay taking third, Mike Mashl fourth, Zeitler fifth and Doug Maurer sixth. The finish makes a three way tie for the point lead between Zeitler, Mullen and Van Pay with 113 marks each.

Ending the drought! Jerry Kroll (#20) won his first Street Stock feature at Luxemburg since August 28, 1992.

Jerry Kroll grabbed the lead at the start of the Street Stock main with Fred Davister, Lance Arneson, James Tebon and Ed Anschutz behind. Kroll held a slight lead while the field stacked up behind running for position. Several cautions slowed the pace in the first half of the race with Kroll holding the top spot. Davister and Tebon swapped second several times, with Davister challenging for the lead on lap 9, the right rear tire blew, dropping him out of contention, but a caution on the next lap allowed the trip to pit lane without losing a tap. The final 10 laps stayed green with Kroll taking the point followed by Tebon, Jesse Colwell, Anschutz, Dave Baenen, and Mike Cole,

Colwell challenged the leader for the rest of the way running the lower groove with Kroll holding the outside line. Kroll held on to win his first feature here since August 28, 1992. Colwell took the runner up spot followed by Tebon, Baenen and Anschutz. Current point leader, Travis Van Straten rounded out the top six.

Ed Danoff let the pace for the first 2 laps of the Sport Truck feature before Kevin Strebel swept by on the outside for the lead on lap 3. Jerry Scray moved into second a lap later, and using the inside line, closed on the leader. Strebel was looking for the quick way around, while Scray took over the lead for 2 laps. Strebel pulled lower on the track and was able to regain the lead on lap 7. Strebel still had trouble running low which allowed Scray to challenge to the finish, but Strebel claimed his second feature won of the year with Scray second. Danoff took third followed by Dan Davister, Jeff Scray and Dan Scharenbrock
