Luxemburg Tri-Star hosts
banquet and prepares for 2000 Season!

March 4, 2000; Luxemburg, WI. - Tri Star Promotions held their 1999 season awards banquet and dance on Fdday night, March 3rd at the Humboldt Haus in Luxemburg. Awards ware presented to the top finishing dnvers in each of the divisions along with Rookie of the Year awards. Kelly Hafeman and Joe Verdigan shared MC duties.
The Sport Truck division crowned Kevin Strebel as the 1999 titlist. He won two features during the season and edged second place finisher, Dan Davister by a mere 5 points, Brandon Blashe finished the seasons in third place overall. Davister finished the season by winning his first career feature and was also crowned as the divisions rookie.
The IMCA Modified division saw 10 different feature winners this season with Brian Mullen taking one feature flag on his way to a third Tri Star track title, Dan Ratajczak placed second in the title chase with R.M. Van Pay taking third, Roy Ihlenfeld and Scott Mullen rounded out the top five finishers. Brian Baenen completed his first season in the division earning the rookie title.
The IMCA Stock Car division continued its strong showings throughout the season with 6 different feature winners. Joe White captures his second straight track title despite not winning a feature this season. Rod Snellenberger took the season place finish in the standings with John Heinz in third. Jay Matthias placed fourth and Brian Bruechert rounded out the top five. Shawn Wagner was awarded the Rookie title.
The Street Stock division saw a re-growth this season and one of the closest title chases ever. There were six different feature winners during the season, Jared Siefert captured his first career track championship by a slim 505 - 502 margin over defending champion Jason Czarapata. Both drivers won 4 features during the season and the chase came down to the final night, Brandon Czarapata placed third and won one feature. Jesse Colwell and Josh Massart rounded out the top five in the standings. Massart was also crowned as the division rookie of the year.
Kelly Hafeman read a letter to the assembly from long time Tri Star announcer, Tom Wagner. Tom will be taking some time off from the tracks this season for personal reasons, stating that "his family has shared him for 11 years, and it was time to spend some time with them."
Tom will leave a void that will be filled by the capable shoes of another long time area announcer, Joe Verdigan.
The 2000 season at the Luxemburg Tri Star Speedway will kick off on Friday night, April 28. All four divisions will return with racing starting at 7 PM every week
