What a difference a week and over 2 inches of rain can make. Despite the set backs, the Luxemburg Tri Star Speedway was able to run their second race of the season Friday night, with four new feature winners topping the card. The Street Stocks started things off with Kevin Charles bursting from the pole to the lead and built quite a lead as the field strung out behind. Doug Morgan was running in second until Dave Baenen took over on lap 4. Morgan dropped out one lap late with a flat. Jeff Treml moved behind Baenen and the same fate fell to him a lap later. Baenen was trying to close on the leader, when Charles had a tire go down on lap 10, which turned the top spot over to Baenen. Baenen pulled away for the rest of the race, leaving an exciting battle for the runner up spot. Eddie Anschutz was in the second with Jamie Colwell, Jeff Vlies and Chaz Van Ooyen behind. Anschutz and Colwell swapped positions several times with Colwell finally taking the spot for good at race end. Anschutz was tight behind in third with Van Ooyen credited with fourth. Charlie Kroll and Phil Hiles rounded out the top six finishers. The win for Baenen was the first in four years of racing as he took the checker well ahead of the field in the non stop race. Pat Davister started on the pole of the Stock car main and quickly pulled away from the pack. Travis Annoye, Craig Paque, Greg Gretz and Benji LaCrosse set out in pursuit. Paque took over the runner up spot on lap 4 and pulled away form the battle for third. It took LaCrosse 7 laps of hard work to wrestle the spot away from Annoye and then face a big gap to challenge the leaders. A lone caution for debris bunched the field on lap 15setting up a 7 lap dash to the finish. Davister continued to set the pace with LaCrosse now taking over the runner up spot from Paque. The pair of Luxemburg drivers put on a good show with a last corner inside attempt by LaCrosse falling short allowing Davister to claim his first feature of the season. LaCrosse was second with Paque getting the third place finish. John Heinz battle to the fourth place finish with Larry Karcz,Jr taking fifth and Tim Van De Hei rounding out the top six. Like the other two features, Jerry Scharenbrock started on the pole and quickly pulled into a lead at the start of the modified main.
