June 29, 2001; Luxemburg, WI. - For the first time in almost 2 months, two complete racing programs were completed in a row Friday night at the Luxemburg Tri Star Speedway. One other event that took place was Jerry Muenster battling to his first IMCA Modified feature win at Tri Star since May 3, 1996. Jeremy Christians ran to his first Stock Car feature win this season here and Charlie Kroll took his second straight Street feature flag and Dan Davister is the first two time Sport Truck feature winner.
Jeremy Christians started the Stock Car main in the front and quickly took command while the rest of the field battled for position. Brian Bruechert, John Heinz, Bryan Techmeier, Mark Derenne, and Greg Gretz were bunched behind. By the mid point of the race, Christians was comfortable out in front with Heinz, Bruechert and Gretz behind. Eric VanIten led the charge from back in the field with Benji LaCrosse, Tim Van De Hei and Dave Bouche now in the mix, A lone caution appeared on lap 14 and bunched the field on the leader. On the green again, Christians again pulled away and left the race for second to collect his first Tri Star feature of the season. The battle for the runner up spot was tight to the finish. LaCrosse took to the outside and moved to the runner up spot on lap 18. Tim Van De Hei also took the outside line to move into third. VanIten finished the run in fourth dropping Heinz back to fifth with Gretz rounding out the top six. Jerry Scharenbroch led the first 2 circuits of the Modified main before second year pilot, Jeremy Jacobs slipped to the inside for the lead on lap 3. Fellow sophomore driver, Robert Waechter, moved into the runner up spot on lap 5 and the pair put on a good show with both looking for their first career division features. The first caution appeared on lap 11 when Brian Mullen and Eddie Muenster got together in turn 4. Mullen had to pit for a tire and rejoined at the back. Dan Ratajczak also had to rejoin the pack from the back for the restart after running in 4th place. On the restart, Waechter pulled into the lead, but, Jared Siefert pulled outside and drove from third place into the lead on lap 14. Two laps later, Siefert would drop out of the contest turning the top spot back over to Waechter. Jacobs was still holding second with R.M. Van Pay now third, Jerry Muenster fourth Scharenbroch still holding fifth and Chris Derenne now in sixth. The green appeared for the final time after a lap 18 caution with Muenster getting the edge into second. Two laps later, the veteran shoe moved inside to take over the lead with Van Pay right behind for second. Muenster held off the Van Pay challenge to claim his first feature win here since May 3, 1996. Van Pay, the current point leader, took the runner up finish with Derenne taking third. Ratajczak had an inspired run from the back to edge Jacobs for fourth at the line. Mullen also recovered to take sixth. Tom Daubner took charge of the Street feature followed by Laurel Ettien, Jeff Treml, Dave Baenen, Eddie Anschutz and Charlie Kroll. A pair of cautions during the first half of the race bunched the pack with Kroll moving into the runner up spot for the final restart on lap 11. Two Laps later, Kroll was in the front and was never headed as he cruised to his second straight feature victory. Point leader, Jamie Colwell, ran the final 6 laps chasing Kroll to finish second. Mike Coel, was right behind in third with Daubner taking fourth. Leon Schott edged Jeff Vlies for the top six places. Shawn Dorn led the opening three laps of the Sport Truck main with point leader, Dan Davister pulling into the top spot on lap 4. Once in front, Davister ran to become the first repeat division feature winner this season. Jerry Scray chased the leader for the final half of the race to finish second.
