delayed one week!!
By Dave Panske
April 9, 2001; Luxemburg, WI. - Tri
Star Promotions announced today that their 2001 season opener at the Luxemburg Tri Star
Speedway will be moved back one week, to Friday night April 27.
The track was scheduled to open a week earlier, but the refusal of spring to arrive this
year has delayed several projects at the track.
The pit entrance and fencing between the pit area and the parking lot is in the process of
being replaced. There is some frost in the ground yet and the recent rainy weather has
kept progress slow. The pit area is also receiving some new lighting and the sound system
is being re-done as well.
The weather has also prevented crews from getting a start on the pre-season track
grooming.
The Luxemburg Tri Star Speedway will now officially open their 14th season on Friday night
April 27. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Street Stocks and Sport Trucks will make up the
weekly programs. Racing starts at 7 PM every week on the 1/3 mile clay oval at the
Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg, WI. The 2001 season will run through Friday
night, August 24th. On August 17th, the track will host an IMCA special event. Details
will be released soon.
The Pre- season inspection and car show will still take place this Saturday, April 14th.
The site will be Dorsch Ford just off HWY 43 on the west side of Green Bay. The event will
be held from 9 a.m. 3 p.m., rain or shine. In case of bad weather, the show will
move inside. All cars must be safety inspected prior to the season opener. Following the
inspection, cars will be on display for fans to inspect as well to get a first hand look
at the competition for the season. |
