March 9, 2002; Luxemburg, WI. - In times when the cost of nearly everything seems to be soaring the new promoters at Luxemburg Speedway have decided to go against the grain. Lakeshore Motorsports Promotions Inc. (LMP) has announced it will cut it's adult admission prices for weekly Friday night shows to $8.00, down from $9.00 in 2001. In addition students ages 13-15 will be admitted for only $6.00. Children ages 6-12 will be charged $2.00. Kids five and under will be admitted free with an adult. "We want to make this an affordable family night out," said Luxemburg track manager Rick Goral. "We feel that by cutting prices rather than increasing them we'll pack the grandstands every Friday night. That's our goal." In addition to the fans drivers will be getting a break of sorts, too. While many other eastern Wisconsin tracks are raising their pit pass fees Luxemburg Speedway will keep it's pit passes for all weekly shows at $15.00. "Drivers and their crew members have a tough enough time scraping together the funds to go racing each week," Goral pointed out. "I just couldn't see raising the back gate at all." The season opener at the third-mile, clay oval is set to kick off on Friday night April 26 at 7 p.m. IMCA modifieds, IMCA stock cars and street stocks will make up the weekly card. Super trucks, Door County Speedway bombers and a yet-unnamed entry level division will compete every third week. Luxemburg Speedway is located off state highway 54 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg. It is located 15 minutes east of Green Bay. For more information call 920 863 8446. |
