Back bests Back in Marshfield CWRA Late Model action!

July 3, 1999; Marshfield, WI: - Since the weather was overcast all day, the sun was unable to heat the track and time trials commenced as usual. Brian Back in the CWRA Late Models broke the track record with an 18.031. Judd Brandl set fast time in the CWSSA Super Stocks and Ben Pettis in the Legends. Randy Bargender was fast timer in the 1-Man Cruisers.

In the CWRA Late Model feature Joe Krzykowski drove off with the early lead. Brian Seubert was hot on Krzykowski's heels. On lap nine the first caution was thrown for a spin. On the re-start, Krzykowski led, Seubert second, Gary Back third, Rory Melbinger who made his way from an 11th place start to fourth and Keith Witt fifth. Back and Seubert battled for second over the next four laps until lap 15 when a spin sent Seubert to the back of the pack.
