September 11, 1999; Marshfield, WI: - Despite the cool weather, a large crowd was on hand for the 1999 Dodge Dakota Pace Truck Giveaway. The lucky winner was Sherry Frazier from Merrill.
Setting fast time for the night was Brian Back in the CWRA Late Models, Cale Laessig in the Super Stocks and Doug Becker in the 1-Man Cruisers.

Gary Back (#26) topped the CARQUEST Invitational event at Marshfield Super Speedway. Back took the lead from Wayne Breitenfeldt and went on to score the victory. For Back it was his fifth CWRA Late Model feature win of the season on the half-mile paved oval. |
In the CWRA Late Model feature, Wayne Breitenfeldt took the lead with John Frazier running second. A caution on the first lap sent Baird Reffner, running fourth, to the back of the pack. On lap three, Dean LaPointe passed Frazier for second, but Frazier came back the next lap to re-claim his position. Rory Melbinger passed Frazier on lap six.
Gary Back was making his way through the field and grabbed second from Melbinger on lap 16. Lap 17, Back took the lead, Breitenfeldt fell into second and Melbinger third. Back won, Breitenfeldt second, Melbinger third, Mark Eswein fourth and Mark Mackesy fifth.

Newcomer Dale Louze, led the first two laps of the Super Stock feature. Scott Hamel then took over the lead. Merle Weinfurter was moving up and grabbed the lead on lap six. Greg Back made his way from a tenth place start into the lead on lap ten. Judd Brandl who started last stole the lead from Back on lap 12. Lap 22, Merle Weinfurter, 11th place starter Cale Laessig and Shawn Stelzer were racing three wide for the third place spot. When it came to the checkered, Laessig beat the other two out. Brandl won, Back second, Laessig third, Stelzer fourth and Weinfurter fifth.

First career feature win! The Legend cars made a surprise appearance at Marshfield this evening and Dave Keays (#2x) scored his first career feature victory. |
The Legends made unexpected appearance tonight. Russ Weiler won the heat race and Dave Keays won the feature. Darrell Paschel led the first three laps of the 1-Man Cruiser feature. Ric Anderson then took over until points champion, Doug Becker passed him for the lead on lap seven. Becker won, Don Tieman Jr. second, Anderson third, Detwiler fourth and Kevin Dupee fifth.
The team of Rod Feltz and Fran Esser won the 2-Man Cruiser race. Chris Sternweis and Chuck Green second, and Paul Hasenohrl and Scott Strigel third.
The next week an Enduro Race will be held, presented by the Midwest Enduro Stock Car Series. Also on hand will be the Cruiser events
Marshfield Super Speedway is a half-mile paved oval, located three miles west of Marshfield, WI on county hwy H.
