| Veteran Tom Reffner snares Marshfield CWRA Late Model victory! |
May 8, 1999; Marshfield, WI: - Drivers from four states came to race here tonight on the big 1/2 mile paved oval. Fast timers were Rory Melbinger in the CWRA Late Models, Shawn Stelzer in the CWSSA Super Stocks and Matt Kocourek in the Legends.

Joe Krzykowski led the first two laps of the CWRA Late Model feature. On lap three, Tom Reffner took over. Krzykowski fell into second followed by Wayne Cottrell, Brian Seubert and Dean LaPointe. On lap eight Seubert passed Cottrell and Krzykowski to take over the second position.
Rocky Breezer moved into the top five on lap nine. On lap 10, Krzykowski regained the second spot from Seubert, but Seubert came right back and retook the position on lap 11. Brian Back advanced into the top five by taking fifth on lap 16. Back passed Breezer for fourth on lap 22, but Breezer fought back and regained the fourth position on the next lap. On the final lap Mark Eswein motored past Back for the fifth spot.
When the checkered flag fell Reffner won, Seubert was second, Krzykowski third, Breezer fourth and Eswein fifth.

Scott Hamel led the first seven circuits of the CWSSA Super Stock feature until Jason Kirsling took over. Kirsling was in the lead, Hamel was second, Jason Szymkowiak third, David Pagels fourth and Shawn Stelzer was fifth at that point.
Szymkowiak took second on lap nine while Stelzer also advanced moving into fourth, while on lap ten Cale Laessig joined the top five taking fifth. Stelzer and Laesig continued to advance moving into third and fourth by lap 11.
By lap 15, Stelzer was in second working on Kirsling for the lead. At the checkered flag Stelzer took the win, Kirsling was second, Szymkowiak third, Laessig fourth and Judd Brandl finished in fifth.

The Legend feature saw Allen Smith hold the lead for the first lap, but by lap two Dean Fisher had the top spot. Smith was running second, B.J. Goodin was third, Tom Schnitzler fourth and Dave Keays fifth. Keays moved into the third spot on lap four. Keays was followed by Curt Gnatzig and Ben Pettis, Gnatzig continued his trek towards the front taking third on lap 12.
Meanwhile Charlie Menard and Fast time Matt Kocourek were working their way through traffic, Menard had made his way into the top five by lap 10, while Kocourek entered the top five on lap 13. Menard was the man on the move taking second behind Fisher on lap14. However an accident on the way to the checkered flag ended the race on the white flag lap. Fisher won followed by Menard, Smith, Kocourek and Curt Gnatzig.
Glen Bargender was the winner in the 1-man Cruiser feature. He was followed by Chad Simone, Doug Becker, Randy Bargender and Darrell Paschel.

Winners of the 2-man Cruisers event were Gary Schallock and Tim Dupee. Second was taken by Tim Firkus and Greg Firkus and third place went to Eric Stinson and Doug Kalepp.
Next weeks Saturday evening racing program will be sponsored by Stratford Sign Company. Miller Time Trials start at 6:00 p.m., with racing starting at 7:00 p.m. Divisions racing next week are CWRA Carquest Late Models, CWSSA Carquest Super Stocks, 1-Man Cruisers, and 2-Man Cruisers.
