Gruden who lead the race initially lost the top spot, but reassumed the lead when the top two running cars tangled.  Gruden then set the pace to the checkered for the victory.

The action started when everyone brake checked on the drop of the green in the Super Late Models. The caution was thrown to re-align the field. After only one lap was completed the caution was thrown for Tim Jackson and Mike Brahmstedt. Lap three the caution came out again this time for Pete Kempf. During this time Rick Grunden was leading the feature. Lap ten Jeff Weinfurter passed Grunden for the lead.

Lap 14 the caution came out again, this time for the leader, Weinfurter, and Judd Brandl who was running second. On the re-start Grunden inherited the lead and fought off Mike Brahmstedt to hold the lead. Grunden won, Brahmstedt second, Brandl made it from the back to the front to finish third, Monte Gress fourth and Jay Van Der Geest fifth.

You can never have too many checkered flags!  Cale Laessig (#01) has been on a roll in Super Stock action this season.  Tonight he came from ninth place to the lead in 12 laps to claim the feature victory. 71400b.jpg (15808 bytes)

Larry Schultz led the first 11 laps of the CWSSA Super Stock feature. Cale Laessig quickly moved through the field from his ninth place start to take the lead from Schultz on lap 12. A caution on lap 12 involving Schultz and Johnny Bell, sent Schultz to the pits and Bell to the back of the pack. Laessig continued in the lead, Merle Weinfurter second and Allan Sankey third. Matt Raykowski passed Brian Stroik for fourth, and Johnny Bell running fifth. Laessig, won Weinfurter second, Sankey third, Raykowski fourth and Bell fifth.

In the Legend feature, the first four laps were led by Jim Binnebose. Adam Allpress led the next six laps until Dean Fisher grabbed the lead on lap 11. Allpress kept racing in second, Curt Gnatzig running in third. Lap 18 Weiler moved into second, and at the checkered flag Weiler beat Fisher at the line, taking home the checkered. Pat Hinner finished third, Allpress fourth and Milt Kemp Jr. fifth.

In the growing 1-man Cruiser class, Mark Vernig paced all but the opening circuit of the main event to score the feature victory this evening on the half-mile paved oval. 71400d.jpg (14603 bytes)
