A field of twenty cars took the green in the Super Late Model feature. Jeff Weinfurter took the early lead from his pole position. Behind him was Ben Pettis, Pete Kempf, Dean LaPointe and Scott Brandt. Mark Mackesy started in seventh spot passed Brandt and Kempf for fourth. The next lap Mackesy passed LaPointe for third and then on lap five he passed Pettis for second. Judd Brandl who started just behind Mackesy was also moving up quickly and was in third on lap five.

Brandl then set his sites on Mackesy and passed him on lap eight. Mackesy came back for lap nine and then it was Brandl for lap ten. On lap 11 though Mackesy passed Brandl and Weinfurter for the lead. Brandl and Weinfurter battled back and forth over the next several laps until lap 16 when a spin sent both cars to the pits. Lap 17 Mark Eswein moved into second and Gary Back into third. Scott Field and Rory Melbinger racing back and forth for fourth. Mackesy won, Eswein second, Back third, Melbinger claimed fourth and Field fifth.

Brian Stroik led lap one of the CWSSA Super Stock feature. Lap two it was Scott Hamel, and the next four laps was Shawn Stelzer. Lap seven Keith Bohmsach took the lead. Stelzer was right behind him and Cale Laessig moved up from his 13th place start for third. Laessig got by Stelzer and started working on Bohmsach. Allan Sankey broke into third on lap 16, but the battle wasn’t over Stelzer got it back for one more lap. Laessig was ran out of laps though and Bohmsach won, Laessig second, Sankey third, Stelzer fourth and Larry Schultz fifth.

The CENEX Mini-Stocks made an appearance this evening on the big half-mile paved oval.  Running at a nearby raceway the Mini-Stocks provided some exciting racing here at Marshfield.  When the checkered flag fell it was Chris Boykins (#2) earning the feature win. 72200c.jpg (12353 bytes)

Froelich and Pitts were unable to reel in Boykins. Boykins won, Froelich second, Pitts third, May fourth and Connor fifth.

The 1-Man Cruiser feature was led by Gary Schallock for 11 laps. Chad Scholl followed in second for six laps until Doug Becker caught and passed him. Rob Detwiler was right behind Becker in third.
