Mike Dodson & Luke Hall
(#55) cruised to victory in the 2-man cruiser event held at the Marshfield Super Speedway.

Speciale was first in the "A" class payoff over veteran driver Jeff Meulemans. Ross Pacana took home top honors in the "B" class with a strong run over Jay LeBrun. In the "C" class it was Dale Brandt edging out Buddy Feldt. Speciale took home $690 for his win with Pacana and Brandt receiving $340 and $190 respectively.

In the two-man cruiser action it was Mike Dodson & Luke Hall over Bob Payne & Steve Bores.

Before the program had begun, all of the drivers and their crews along with the race fans were asked to stand for a moment of silence in respect of those who were lost due to the actions that happened in the country this past week. All of the drivers and crews held candles throughout the moment of silence and the national anthem. The Lunsford Racing Team provided the candles. Donations were also collected throughout the evening totaling $412 that will be forwarded to the American Red Cross.

As the "Northern Lights 250" got underway, Jeff Meulemans quickly advanced to lead of the pack of 46 entrants and set the tone with a blistering pace. Meulemans could not shake off Jeremy Bloomberg’s advances however as the second generation driver caught Meulemans by lap 25. Bloomberg was still in the lead as the drivers made their first scheduled pit stop on lap 52.

At that point the top five were Bloomberg, Gary Kasperek, Meulemans, Speciale and Frank Calabrese. When the field went back to green, Meulemans bolted back in the lead and took command of the event over the next 100 circuits, holding a one lap edge on the rest of the field at the 152 lap interval. Once again green, Speciale and Bloomberg gained ground on Meulemans and by lap 175 were in contention. The three would dice back and forth for the top spot the next 25 circuits before Speciale would take the point at lap 202, the break for the last refueling pit stop.

Speciale, Meulemans and Bloomberg were two laps ahead of fourth place running Kasperek at that point. Meulemans tried in vane to catch Speciale the remainder of the way but fell some four seconds short at the stripe with Bloomberg coming home third, eleven seconds off the winners pace. Speciale’s win was special as he and his wife Kim celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary. The fans were out, to see the annual enduro race held here at the "Big 1/2 Mile." The 2001 "Northern Lights 250" Mid-West Enduro race crowned three winners from the 250 lap race. Art Speciale won the Class "A" event in his #50 car. Ross Pacana took home the checkered in his #29 car for the Class "B" event. And, the #731 of Dale Brandt.

The 2-Man Cruisers were slated to race 20 laps, but the only caution of the event came out after the white flagged was thrown and the race was complete. Mike Dodson and Luke Hall motored to victory with a straightaway lead. Bob Payne and Steve Bores finished with a strong second and Shaun Sandley and Kory Wendt third.
