marsh9819a.jpg (17083 bytes) Rex Rossier scored his third CWRA Late Model victory of the season at Marshfield Speedway in the annual CarQuest Invitational.  To win the event Rossier had to fend off the challenges of recently crowned track champion Jeff Weinfurter to take home the checkered flag.  All the tops stars of Marshfield Speedway and area race tracks will return October 3rd for the NEW Fall Shootout!

Twenty-three cars started the CWRA Late Model feature race.   It was a big battle for positions as Brian Seubert held the lead for the first five laps but was not able to hold off Rex Rossier.  At the halfway point, Rossier led, Seubert was second while newly crowned track champion Jeff Weinfurter, Keith Witt and Monte Gress followed in the top five spots.

Donnie Woller made a rare appearance this season at Marshfield payoff when he came home first in his heat race for the CWRA Late Models.  Woller also went on to finish a solid fifth in the feature race. marsh9819b.jpg (13448 bytes)

On lap 14, Weinfurter and Witt got by Seubert to take the second and third spots behind Rossier and leaving Seubert to deal with Gress.  Jeremy Lepak moved into the top five on lap 22 and he then passed Gress to claim fourth, as Donnie Woller advanced into fifth dropping Gress out of the top five.

Rossier would go on to take the checkered ahead of Weinfurter, Witt was third, Lepak fourth and Woller finished in fifth.

Super Stock action at Marshfield!  In the left photo, Allan Sansky is all smiles after taking the win in the Feature event, while in the right photo Keith Bohmsach (#24x) made his way to the winners circle after taking a heat race win.

Polesitter, Jim Marquard led the first seven laps of the CWSSA Super Stock division until Allan Sansky passed him for the top spot.  Scott Hamel and Andy Simonis lined up behind Sansky but they were not able to take the top spot.   Meanwhile, Gary Wosick who set fast time made his way up from the back of the pack.   When the checkered flag fell however Sansky would pick up the win with Wosick second, Simonis third, Cale Laessig fourth and Hamel fifth.

Dean Fisher made his first visit to the winners circle after a feature race, when he took top honors in the Great North Legends event.   Fisher got by early race leader Tony Robertson and then held off his rivals to pick up the win. marsh9819g.jpg (17317 bytes)

In the Legend feature, Tony Robertson had the lead but then Dean Fisher took hold of the position and never let go.  Robertson held second until Andy Burgess grabbed the spot on lap 17 and he was followed by Dwayne Vetrone who motored past Robertson into third.  Fast Timer Charlie Menard was making his path to the top spot motoring through traffic.  Before the finish Vetrone passed Burgess but at the stripe Fischer won, followed by Vetrone, Menard, Burgess and Pat Hinner.
