Season Ending Specials Spice Midway Speedway Season!
By Ronnie Williams

August 14, 2002; Lebanon, MO. -  Entries fro the third and final Enduro race at the Lebanon Midway Speedway are now being taken. This event will conclude the 2002 racing season at Midway on Sept. 28 on a Sat. Night and will follow the Larry Phillips Showme Showdown that will be held on Sept.21.

Enreies are still climbing and even though many drivers like that front row starting spots-Springfield's Dave Williams proved that you can win from the back of the pack as the former area racer drove his Camaro to the winner's circle from the 55th starting spot.

The event will again feature a 4 wide start and all drivers and entries should have a window net on the car this time for safety reasons(just in case they run in reverse racing order). Entries and car registration can be gathered by calling Harold Armstrong at 417-532-6254 or the Speedway track office at 417-532-2060.

Interest is very high for the 1st Annual Larry Phillips Showme Showdown as a 125 Lap Late Model Feature paying $3000 to win will highlight the card that evening as the Modifieds and Area Bomb Squad will be racing also.

"Most all area track points finish-up on Sept.14th and we expect a top notch field of Late Models and Modifieds for the race" quoted track announcer Ron Williams," The interest in the KC area is very good and myself and Harold are making a trip to I-70 for a special Sunday evening show in the next week or so to talk to many of there area drivers, our local drivers have really never run for that much money and the format is driver and fan friendly.

The Modifieds have really been putting on a great race show each week and thanks to Lone Oak Printing,we really expect a high car count as if we get a full 26 car field or more ,then there will be and extra $1000 in the purse taking it from 1000 to win the feature to $1250 and from 100 to start to 125 to start the 50 lap feature.

These races are a chance for us to showcase many top local area Shorttrack Drivers on the pavement,as we feel we can put the best of the best out there on the track that Sat.Night.

Pit Gates will open at 2PM that Sept.21 show with Late Model practice to start around 3:45pm till 5pm. Practice for the other 2 classes will be from 5:40-6:20pm and then the Late Models will time-in at 6:30pm and racing to start at 7:30pm.
