Midway Speedway Prepares For Car Show and Practice!

February 25, 2002; Lebanon, MO. - Fans will get a chance to preview some of their favorite local drivers that will inhabit Lebanon's Midway Speedway , March 8-9-10. Over 20 cars will come to the Battlefield Mall for the three day event
to show off their new color schemes and cars. Late Model entries are Larry Phillips, who will be returning to the asphalt this season. Two time track champion Tim Swearengin, Archie Griffin and Paul Wallen will have their cars available. Bringing a new car to the Late Models will be Tony Jackson, Jr. who has stepped up from the Late Model Sportsman where he took the championship last season.

Among the other cars that will be on hand are several of last year track champions. Jim Hayes will bring a new look for the 2002 season in the Modifieds, along with the Bates brothers, David and Jay. Also, a fan favorite to run the season at Midway Speedway will be Dale Roper and Richard Post who will be in a new car this season.

Returning to the circuit is Aaron Douglas in the Super Street Division. Aaron Harden will be there with his super street car. Other cars you will see will be last years Super Street Champion, Robert Reeves, who has moved into the Late Model Sportsman Division. Mike Hoover will be sporting a new paint scheme along with Brian Brown, who ran Super Stree
last season. There will be some Pure Street cars on show as Dale Williams and Jason Otto show fans the grass roots of racing.

The car show is only a preview of the many cars that will attack the track in 2 practice sessions on March 30th and April 6th. The gates will open to fans at 10 am with practice beginning at noon each day. There is no admission to the practice dates. The season opener is April 13th.
